Tocal Homestead Wedding + Hunter Valley Wedding Photographer + Popcorn Photography + Sofia and Rob

A few weeks ago, I had the greatest pleasure shooting Sof and Rob's wedding at Tocal Homestead, one of Popcorn's most favourite wedding venues with Marianne, one of Popcorn's awesome Popcorn shooters.

A little segway as I'm feeling nostalgic -  Tocal College, Tocal Homestead and Mindaribba House (who I truly wish would update their gallery with some of our amazing images cough splutter) were just along the road from where I grew up as a young teenager. My family had a Poll Hereford Stud and in the early days, their friends lived at Mindaribba House, well before it became a wedding venue. I knew and visited these places often.

From birth until our time at Mindaribba, I was fortunate that our family lived 20 minutes from the Vineyards. Their love of wine, networking and friendship saw them frequent the wineries often and a fantastically large floor to ceiling 'toy' cupboard (6 very tall and deep shelves and double door width) in my bedroom had at least 2.5 shelves filled with cases of all the classics that the Hunter is known for!  As i grew up and became a newly married woman with 2 perfect children, my husband (now my ex) and I made our home back in the vineyard area.  So as you can imagine, my head and heart are firmly planted in the beautiful Hunter Valley and it's wine growing region of Pokolbin.

Every day I still pinch myself that I am able to share not only my passion for Photography, but my love and knowledge of these areas with our (myself, Laura, Leighsa, Marianne, Jane and Kelly) beautiful couples who allow us the honour to be a part of their wedding day.

Okay, back to the gorgeous wedding of Sof and Rob at Tocal Homestead. I met Sof and girls at Morpeth and Marianne met Rob and the boys at Maitland, where they were having a few beers and getting ready.

We all met up at Tocal where their ceremony washeld in front of the homestead. The light was tricky and wind insane, yet love conquered all and they were blissfully, married in front of their nearest and dearest.

Playing in my surroundings on location, looking for pretty and watching light is as they say 'my jam' so taking Rob and Sof to the driveway first was my plan to start the magic. Naturally we ended location with the 'magic hour' and some mighty gorgeous images.

The rest of the night en-captured a feeling of family, love and fun. Long tables, share plates, endearing speeches, hilarious speeches and some photo worthy dance moves!

So peeps, here is the fabo wedding of Sofia and Robert. Please love, share and enjoy.

Hugs,

Mere xx
